Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 901
When an agency that is required to report instances of known or suspected child abuse or severe neglect in accordance with Penal Code section 11169 conducts an active investigation and determines that the allegation(s) of child abuse or severe neglect is substantiated, as those terms are defined by Penal Code sections 11165.1, 11165.2, subdivision (a), 11165.3, 11165.4, 11165.5, and 11165.12, the agency must submit a report in writing of the substantiated child abuse or severe neglect to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) on the Child Abuse or Severe Neglect Indexing Form, BCIA 8583 (Rev. 06/2024), incorporated by reference herein.
