The board shall grant assayer emeritus status to an assayer who is registered by the board pursuant to this chapter on August 6, 2016 if both of the following apply:

1. 1. The assayer has not received any complaints during the assayer's active registration.
2. 2. The assayer analyzes metals, ores, minerals or alloys to ascertain the quantity of gold or silver or any other substance present in the metals, ores, minerals or alloys.
