1. A. An individual is eligible to apply for initial certification as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, or radiation therapy technologist if the individual:

   1. 1. Is at least 18 years of age; and

   2. 2. Satisfies one of the following:

      1. a. Holds current applicable ARRT or NMTCB certification,
      2. b. Has completed a Department-approved educational program in radiation technology and has a passing score on a Department-approved examination, or
      3. c. Meets the criteria in A.R.S. § 32-4302(A).
2. B. An individual certified as a radiologic technologist shall follow the standards specified for Radiography in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, effective June 30, 2024, available at https://www.asrt.org/main/standards-and-regulations/professional-practice/practice-standards-online, incorporated by reference, on file with the Department, and including no future editions or amendments.

3. C. An individual certified as a nuclear medicine technologist shall:

   1. 1. Follow the standards specified for Nuclear Medicine in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, effective June 30, 2024, available at https://www.asrt.org/main/standards-and-regulations/professional-practice/practice-standards-online, incorporated by reference, on file with the Department, and including no future editions or amendments; and
   2. 2. Use radiopharmaceutical agents on humans for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes only.
4. D. An individual certified as a radiation therapy technologist shall follow the standards specified for Radiation Therapy in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, effective June 30, 2024, available at https://www.asrt.org/main/standards-and-regulations/professional-practice/practice-standards-online, incorporated by reference, on file with the Department, and including no future editions or amendments.
