1. 1. Improve the midwife’s ability to:

   1. a. Provide services within the midwife’s scope of practice,
   2. b. Recognize and respond to situations outside the midwife’s scope of practice, or
   3. c. Provide guidance to other services a client may need; and

2. 2. Have been approved as applicable to the practice of midwifery by the:

   1. a. American Nurses Association,
   2. b. American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecologists,
   3. c. Midwives Alliance of North America,
   4. d. Arizona Medical Association,
   5. e. American College of Nurse Midwives,
   6. f. Midwifery Education Accreditation Council, or
   7. g. Another health professional organization.

During the term of a midwifery license, the midwife shall obtain at least 20 hours of continuing education that:
