1. 1. Respiratory care services are provided under the direction of a resident’s designated medical practitioner;

2. 2. Respiratory care services are provided according to an order that includes:

   1. a. The resident’s name;
   2. b. The name and signature of the ordering individual;
   3. c. The type, frequency, and, if applicable, duration of treatment;
   4. d. The type and dosage of medication and diluent; and
   5. e. The oxygen concentration or oxygen liter flow and method of administration;

3. 3. Respiratory care services provided to a resident are documented in the resident’s medical record and include:

   1. a. The date and time of administration;
   2. b. The type of respiratory care services provided;
   3. c. The effect of the respiratory care services;
   4. d. The resident’s adverse reaction to the respiratory care services, if any; and
   5. e. The authentication of the individual providing the respiratory care services; and
4. 4. Any area or unit that performs blood gases or clinical laboratory tests complies with the requirements in R9-10-2219.

If respiratory care services are authorized to be provided on a nursing-supported group home’s premises, an administrator shall ensure that:
