1. 1. “Adult” means an individual 16 years of age or older.
2. 2. “Child” means an individual younger than 16 years of age.
3. 3. “Patient” means the individual whose blood has been tested for lead content.

4. 4. “Point-of-care test for blood lead” means an analysis to screen an individual for exposure to lead:

   1. a. That is performed outside a clinical laboratory, and
   2. b. For which the results of the analysis are available before the individual leaves the location at which the analysis was performed.
5. 5. “Whole blood” means human blood from which plasma, erythrocytes, leukocytes, and thrombocytes have not been separated.
