(a) The Adoptions Manager or designee will:
- (1) Respond to inquiries/referrals about international adoptions;
- (2) Provide list of licensed private adoption agencies who will complete adoption assessments for intercountry adoptions;
(3)
- (A) Determine if an adoption assessment prepared by a qualified licensed social worker or others designated by the court meet child placement licensing requirements for adoption in Arkansas.
- (B) Licensed adoption agencies are exempt from this review;
- (4) Provide an approval letter to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service upon request to verify compliance to licensing requirements;
- (5) Maintain permanent adoption files; and
- (6) Train staff with licensed private adoption agencies, licensed social workers, and others designated by the court involved with intercountry adoption.
- (b) The Adoption Specialist will refer intercountry adoption inquiries/referrals to the Adoptions Manager or designee.
