Eligibility for placement into the transitional living program includes:
- (1) An evaluation by the caseworker or administrative staff to determine that placement into the transitional living program does not present a health or safety risk to the youth or the community;
- (2) The youth is at least eighteen (18) years of age and is being transferred from a licensed or exempt program into the transitional living program;
(3)
(A) The resident is actively engaged in an educational program such as:
- (i) High school;
- (ii) General Educational Development (GED);
- (iii) Vocational training; or
- (iv) Postsecondary education, such as college.
- (B) When the youth has completed all educational requirements according to state law, they shall be employed or actively involved in a supervised job search program; and
(4) The resident is knowledgeable in basic life skills, including without limitation:
- (A) Money management;
- (B) Food management;
- (C) Personal appearance;
- (D) Birth control and personal health and hygiene;
- (E) Housekeeping;
- (F) Transportation;
- (G) Emergency and safety skills;
- (H) Knowledge of community resources;
- (I) Interpersonal skills;
- (J) Legal skills;
- (K) Housing;
- (L) Educational planning; and
- (M) Job-seeking and job maintenance skills.
