9 CAR § 31-814 – Sleeping arrangements

(a) The facility shall provide bedrooms for the children.
(b) There shall be no more than four (4) children per bedroom.
(c) There shall be at least fifty square feet (50 sq. ft.) of floor space per child in each bedroom.
(d) No child shall share a bedroom with a child of the opposite gender.
(e) Each child shall have a separate bed with a mattress, sheets, pillow, pillowcase, and adequate cover, all in good condition.
(f) Bedding shall be changed at least weekly, more often if needed.
(g) Each child shall have an area to store personal belongings.
(h) Staff sleeping quarters shall be separate from children’s sleeping rooms.
(i) Room arrangements shall be based on characteristics of each resident to ensure the safety of each child.
