(a) The discharge shall be planned by agency staff that includes custodian and child involvement and participation.
(b) The agency may discharge a child on an emergency basis if failure to do so could result in:
(1) Harm to the child;
(2) Harm to other persons; or
(3) Significant property damage.
(c) A child shall be discharged to the custody of the child’s parent or a person with authorization from the parent or guardian, or a person authorized by court order to assume custody of the child.
(d) The agency shall:
(1) Complete a discharge statement on each child that includes a:
(A) Discharge date; and
(B) Reason for discharge; and
(2) Provide a copy of it to the child’s custodian.
(e) Documentation of the discharge shall be maintained in the child’s record.
