8 CAR § 80-705 – Class A operator certification

(a) At a minimum, a Class A operator must be certified by the Division of Environmental Quality in the following areas:
1. (1) A general knowledge of applicable federal and state underground storage tank system requirements for operation, maintenance, and recordkeeping including, but not limited to:
  1. (A) Release prevention;
  2. (B) Release detection;
  3. (C) Emergency response; and
  4. (D) Product compatibility;
2. (2) Financial responsibility requirements;
3. (3) Notification requirements;
4. (4) Release and suspected release reporting requirements;
5. (5) Temporary and permanent closure requirements; and
6. (6) Operator training requirements.
(b) After August 8, 2012, Class A operators must be certified within thirty (30) days after assuming operation and maintenance responsibilities for an underground storage tank system.
