Run-on/run-off control systems

- (a) Class 3 commercial requirements. Class 3 commercial landfills shall design, construct, and maintain run-on and run-off control systems meeting the requirements of 8 CAR § 60-418 for Class 1 landfills.
(b) Class 3 noncommercial requirements. At a minimum, Class 3 noncommercial landfills shall design, construct, and maintain:
- (1) A run-on control system to prevent flow onto the active portion of the landfill or waste processing area during the peak discharge from a twenty-four-hour, ten-year storm;
- (2) A run-off control system from the active portion of the landfill or waste processing area to collect and control at least the water volume resulting from a twenty-four-hour, ten-year storm if required by the Division of Environmental Quality to meet the requirements of 8 CAR § 60-518; and
- (3) Best management practices for pollution prevention shall be implemented at all sites to control the release of sediment and waste from the site.
