Special rules of calculation of annual school election held with general election or general election runoff
Arkansas Code § 6-14-101; Arkansas Code § 7-7-201
(a)
- (1) When an annual school election is held at the same time as the general election or its runoff, the county board of election commissioners shall first calculate the additional costs of the annual school election.
- (2) That calculation shall be made pursuant to this part and relevant state law.
- (b) The county board of election commissioners shall then subtract the additional cost of the school election from the actual election expenses to determine the total cost of the election to the county pursuant to this part.
- (c) The county board of election commissioners shall then use this number to calculate the portion of the election costs that municipalities must reimburse to the county pursuant to Arkansas Code § 7-5-104.
(d) The county board of election commissioners shall provide to the appropriate official in each city, or incorporated town within the county, a bill that clearly states:
- (1) The amount that city or incorporated town must reimburse the county for the election; and
- (2) A concise explanation of how this amount was calculated.
