(a) The following standards shall apply for maintenance of the equipment in a vote center:
(1) Counties shall ensure that the equipment is:
- (A) Properly maintained with current and up-to-date firmware and software; and
- (B) Used within the manufacturer’s suggested tolerances;
- (2) Equipment used in vote centers is subject to the same standard maintenance procedures for all voting systems in the State of Arkansas; and
(3)
- (A) If required for maintenance, error with equipment, or break down of any equipment, a vendor or certified technician may perform maintenance on any equipment as needed.
- (B) Any maintenance needed on election day must be authorized by the county board of election commissioners.
(b) The following standards shall apply for use of the equipment in a vote center:
- (1) Counties shall allow only trained personnel to operate or maintain any of the equipment in a vote center;
- (2) All electronic or mechanical equipment is for official use by the county clerks if designated to conduct early voting, or the county board of election commissioners or other designated county personnel; and
(3)
- (A) Equipment shall be used only for performance of official election duties.
- (B) No personal use of equipment is authorized.
