(a)

1. (1) A pathologist is eligible for a payment of up to twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) toward their outstanding student loan balance following the successful completion of two (2) years of consecutive employment with the State Crime Laboratory.
2. (2) The maximum allowable under the State Crime Laboratory Student Loan Forgiveness Program is one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) per pathologist.
3. (3) Successful completion of one (1) year of employment does not entitle a pathologist to receive a payment, including partial payments, for their student loan.

(b) All of the following requirements will be met prior to the laboratory making a payment on a student loan:

1. (1)

   1. (A) Completion of twenty-four (24) months of employment with the laboratory, to include satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary employment period.
   2. (B) The one-year probationary period is not required for applicants that have:

(i) Been employed for more than two (2) years; and

1. (ii) Already received one (1) payment under the program;
2. (2) Proof that the pathologist’s student loan has an outstanding, unpaid balance; and
3. (3) An executed employment contract with the laboratory.
