(a)

1. (1)

   1. (A) No later than January 1 immediately preceding the next regular school year in which the organization proposes to place a foreign exchange student, the organization shall file a renewal of registration with the Secretary of State, by completing the registration requirements.
   2. (B) Such renewal of registration shall be effective for one (1) calendar year.

2. (2) If an organization registers with the Secretary of State after January 1 of the calendar year:

   1. (A) The effective date of the registration will be the date that the registration is approved by the Secretary of State; and
   2. (B) The registration will expire at the end of the same year.

(b)

1. (1) Organizations may file an application for renewal up to ninety (90) days prior to the expiration period.
2. (2) Failure of the Secretary of State to notify the organization of renewal does not relieve the organization's obligation to file renewal documents.
3. (3) Organizations that do not have an approved and filed registration by February 1 may not place students in the upcoming school year.
