1. (1) Unless an energy absorbing bumper is used, the front bumper shall:

   1. (A) Be of pressed steel channel or equivalent material at least three-sixteenths inch (3/16") thick and not less than eight inches (8") wide (high);
   2. (B) Extend beyond the forward-most part of the body, grill, hood, and fenders; and
   3. (C) Extend to outer edges of the fenders at the bumper's top line.
2. (2) Type A shall be to manufacturer standard.

(c) The front bumper, except breakaway bumper ends, shall be of sufficient strength to permit pushing a vehicle of equal gross vehicle weight without permanent distortion to the:

1. (1) Bumper;
2. (2) Chassis; or
3. (3) Body.
