6 CAR § 300-805 – Annual tiered support — Electronic reporting

(a) For submission of documentation for annual desk audits, the Division of Career and Technical Education will make available an online reporting tool for electronic reporting.
(b) Federal monitoring oversight staff recommend tiered monitoring vs. cycle monitoring.
(c) To best support districts and ensure federal requirements are being met, levels of tiered support include:
1. (1) Tier 1. Annual desk audit completed with upload of documentation into the division electronic reporting system demonstrating federal Perkins requirements are being met;
2. (2) Tier 2.
  1. (A) Incomplete desk audit with absent or incomplete documentation to demonstrate federal requirements are being met.
  2. (B) This tier level requires responses to additional questions; and
3. (3) Tier 3.
  1. (A) High-risk audit with high-risk findings on the risk assessment.
  2. (B) This tier level includes investigation with a deeper look at federal requirements that are not being met along with a letter to the superintendent.
  3. (C) This tier level will be documented as a high-risk with the Department of Education Public School Accountability Office as an identified high-risk from another Department of Education division and may include an on-site visit.
