(a)
- (1) CTE teachers’ licensure shall be submitted through the Office of Educator Licensure.
- (2) See the Educator Effectiveness and Licensure Division, Office of Educator Licensure webpage on educator licensure https://dese.ade.arkansas.gov/Offices/educator-effectiveness/educator-licensure for a complete description.
- (b) A public school, agency, or organization may apply for an exception from the requirement under Arkansas Code § 6-15-1004 for a licensed educator if it imposes an undue hardship for a school to timely fill a vacant position with a qualified individual licensed in the required licensure content area and level of licensure.
(c)
- (1) Exceptions require approval by the State Board of Education.
(2) The exceptions are:
- (A) Additional licensure plans and administer licensure completion plans;
- (B) Long-term substitute teacher; or
- (C) Emergency teaching permit.
- (3) An emergency teaching permit authorizes the permit holder to be hired to fill a vacant teaching position without a license.
(d)
- (1) Career and technical education (CTE) teachers will be provided district supported mentoring which will include teacher excellence and support system professional learning.
- (2) Additionally, job-embedded professional learning communities are being organized to offer an opportunity for those who may be singletons to increase their professional learning.
- (3) Career and technical education degreed teacher licensure.
