(a)

1. (1) In general, a hearing officer may grant specific extensions of time beyond forty-five (45) days at the request of either party to the hearing.
2. (2) Extensions of time may be granted for good cause shown.

(c) Any extension of time granted by the hearing officer shall be:

1. (1) Noted in a written order detailing the specific need for the extension; and
2. (2) Forwarded by the hearing officer to the Department of Education within two (2) days of the date of the decision to grant an extension of the timelines.
