1. (a) The evaluation process provides accurate, timely, and relevant information to decisionmakers for improving program options offered to gifted students.
2. (b) The plan for evaluation is based on program objectives.

3. (c) All components of the gifted and talented program are evaluated annually:

   1. (1) Identification;
   2. (2) Staff development;
   3. (3) Program options;
   4. (4) Program goals and objectives;
   5. (5) Curriculum;
   6. (6) Community involvement;
   7. (7) Program expenditures; and
   8. (8) Evaluation.

4. (d) Data for evaluation are obtained from a variety of:

   1. (1) Instruments;
   2. (2) Procedures; and
   3. (3) Information sources.

5. (e) Evaluation findings are compiled, analyzed, and communicated to the:

   1. (1) Office for the Education of Gifted and Talented Children; and
   2. (2) Appropriate audiences.

6. (f) Student progress is assessed with attention to:

   1. (1) Mastery of content;
   2. (2) Higher-level thinking skills;
   3. (3) Creativity; and
   4. (4) Affective growth.
7. (g) Participation in the gifted program is noted on student transcripts and permanent records.
