- (a) The evaluation process provides accurate, timely, and relevant information to decisionmakers for improving program options offered to gifted students.
- (b) The plan for evaluation is based on program objectives.
(c) All components of the gifted and talented program are evaluated annually:
- (1) Identification;
- (2) Staff development;
- (3) Program options;
- (4) Program goals and objectives;
- (5) Curriculum;
- (6) Community involvement;
- (7) Program expenditures; and
- (8) Evaluation.
(d) Data for evaluation are obtained from a variety of:
- (1) Instruments;
- (2) Procedures; and
- (3) Information sources.
(e) Evaluation findings are compiled, analyzed, and communicated to the:
- (1) Office for the Education of Gifted and Talented Children; and
- (2) Appropriate audiences.
(f) Student progress is assessed with attention to:
- (1) Mastery of content;
- (2) Higher-level thinking skills;
- (3) Creativity; and
- (4) Affective growth.
- (g) Participation in the gifted program is noted on student transcripts and permanent records.
