(a) Persons who teach identified gifted students in homogeneous groups must:
- (1) Hold current Arkansas initial or standard teaching licensure;
- (2) Pass appropriate state-approved assessments; and
- (3) Meet performance standards as set by the State Board of Education through the Office of Educator Licensure for add-on endorsement in gifted education.
(b) Persons who coordinate a program for gifted and talented students kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) must:
- (1) Hold current Arkansas teaching licensure;
- (2) Pass appropriate state-approved assessments; and
- (3) Meet performance standards as set by the state board through the office for add-on endorsement in gifted education.
(c) Persons who administer a program for gifted and talented students kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) must:
- (1) Hold current Arkansas standard teaching licensure;
- (2) Pass appropriate state-approved assessments; and
- (3) Meet performance standards as set by the state board through the office for add-on endorsement in gifted education.
- (d) A process for selection of administrators, coordinators, and teachers of the gifted is clearly defined and established.
- (e) Job descriptions are developed for administrators, coordinators, and teachers of the gifted.
- (f) Regularly scheduled time is provided for administrators, coordinators, and teachers of the gifted who perform administrative duties beyond direct services to identified students.
