6 CAR § 96-603
Teacher training subsidy
Arkansas Code § 6-16-804
(a) Teachers of Advanced Placement courses, Pre-Advanced Placement courses, or International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme courses must:
(1) Meet Arkansas Teacher Licensure requirements; and
(2) Participate in a training program or programs outlined in 6 CAR § 96-602 of this part.
(b)
(1) For a teacher designated by a local school district as an instructor of an Advanced Placement course, Pre-Advanced Placement course, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme course, training costs may be covered by a grant administered by the host of the Advanced Placement Summer Institute to cover the cost of tuition, expenses, and materials of approved training programs, not to exceed six hundred fifty dollars ($650) per teacher, contingent upon appropriated funding.
(2) Priority for training will be given to teachers who have not been previously trained.
(3) Training not covered by grant funds will be the responsibility of the district, if training is required as a part of the teacher’s job requirements.
(c) A teacher who is assigned to teach more than one (1) Advanced Placement, Pre-Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme course (i.e., biology, chemistry, etc.) may apply for more than one (1) teacher training stipend, contingent upon appropriated funding.
