(a)

1. (1) Each public school shall employ at least a half-time principal or charter school campus director.
2. (2) A full-time principal shall be employed when a public school's enrollment reaches three hundred (300).

3. (3) A public school district superintendent may be permitted to serve as a half-time principal when district enrollment is less than three hundred (300) providing the superintendent is:

   1. (A) Appropriately certified; and
   2. (B) Not already teaching classes.

4. (4) Schools with an enrollment exceeding five hundred (500) shall employ at least:

   1. (A) One (1) full-time principal; and
   2. (B) A half-time:

(i) Assistant principal;

1. (ii) Dean of students;

   1. (iii) Instructional supervisor; or

      1. (iv) Curriculum specialist. (D/P)

(b) Each public school district shall employ public school principals who meet the licensure requirements pursuant to Arkansas law or Division of Elementary and Secondary Education rules unless the public school district has a licensure exception pursuant to:

1. (1) Arkansas law; or

2. (2) Division rules. (D/C)

   1. (c) Each public school district shall:
3. (1) Register with the division any building-level or district-level administrator, with the exception of the superintendent, who is in his or her first year of employment as an administrator; and

4. (2) Ensure these administrators receive mentoring support for their first three (3) years. (D/C)

   1. (d) At least once every four (4) years, the district shall report in the state-approved platform a summative rating for each building-level and district-level administrator, with the exception of the superintendent. (D/C)
