- (a) Each applicant must provide the Permit Section a copy of its current Arkansas Towing and Recovery Board license.
- (b) Upon verifying the validity of the towing and recovery license, Permit Section technicians may issue the permit according to procedures in place at the time the permit is issued.
- (c) The one-year permit will be valid until the expiration of the applicant's current towing and recovery license, but shall not exceed one (1) year.
- (d) The permit must be carried in the wrecker or tow vehicle and be readily available to present to any law enforcement officer upon request.
(e)
- (1) Any towing business towing a disabled vehicle that is operating pursuant to an oversize or overweight permit issued by the Permit Section must contact the Permit Section to obtain travel route approval.
- (2) In the event a disabled, permitted oversize or overweight vehicle is blocking the roadway and creating an imminent safety hazard, the required travel route approval may be obtained once the vehicle has been removed to a safe location a short distance from the roadway.
- (f) No additional fee will be charged for travel route approval.
- (g) Escort vehicles or pole cars may be required for some oversize vehicles.
