27 CAR § 30-143 – Form of security

(a) Security deposits shall be made in cash, money order, and cashier’s check.
(b) Personal checks may be accepted, but shall be endorsed immediately.
(c) Assignments of certificates of deposits or passbook type savings may also be accepted.
