(a)
- (1) Area managers are responsible for ensuring that staff are addressing referrals within the time frame designated by policy.
- (2) Staff can run regular reports on referrals and applications to determine dates and timelines that may be approaching using AWARE.
- (3) Staff should review their referrals and applications at least once a week using any of the available reports.
- (4) Each VR counselor is responsible for ensuring that their cases are following all Division of State Services for the Blind policies and procedures.
(b)
- (1) All authorizations require approval by the VR counselor and area manager before they may be issued and sent to vendors or paid.
- (2) If the counselor or area manager is unavailable their supervisor may approve in their place.
(c)
- (1) Additionally, all cases are subject to random and routine audits by Quality Assurance, area managers, or administration to ensure that division policies and procedures are being followed.

- (3) These audits will ensure all required documentation are in the case files, and corrective action will be required when deficiencies are found.
- (4) Staff will be responsible for correcting any issues found during these audits.
