- (a) Informed choice is a process where individuals or their designated representatives make informed decisions, based on information provided by the counselor and gathered from various sources, to explore options and determine career goals when the individual is applying for or receiving vocational rehabilitation services.
(b) This process consists of:
- (1) Identifying available options;
- (2) Identifying both favorable and unfavorable consequences of each option;
- (3) Discussing relevant laws and policies;
- (4) Selecting an option; and
- (5) Committing to and acting on the selected option.
