1. (a) If a member of a fire or police department dies during the period of participation in the DROP, a lump-sum payment equal to the balance of the DROP account will be paid pursuant to Acts 1993, No. 757, or Acts 1993, No. 1004.
2. (b) The widow's benefit will be paid pursuant to existing law.
