24 CAR § 5-105 – DROP participants considered active members for death-in-service benefits

(a) It was not the intent of the legislation allowing the DROP or the section implementing this plan that DROP participants would be excluded from death-in-service benefits.
(b)
1. (1) Therefore, by this action, the Board of Trustees of the State Police Retirement System does hereby designate DROP participants as active members for death-in-service benefits.
2. (2) This board action is effective with the beginning date of the DROP.

Codification Notes: “DROP” means deferred retirement option plan. This section as promulgated prior to codification into the Code of Arkansas Rules provided as follows: "RULE 13 - July 1996 - DROP PARTICIPANTS CONSIDERED ACTIVE MEMBERS FOR DEATH-IN-SERVICE BENEFITS"
