1. (a) In accordance with Acts 1997, No. 76, if the Intergovernmental Juvenile Detention Council of the Tenth Judicial District elects, by a majority vote of the council, to participate in Arkansas Public Employees’ Retirement System, the council shall certify such vote to the Executive Director of the Arkansas Public Employees’ Retirement System within ten (10) days after the vote.
2. (b) The effective date of coverage shall be the later of July 1, 1997, or the first day of the calendar month next following receipt of the election results by the executive director.
3. (c) Interest on prior service purchases shall be “regular interest” as defined by the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Public Employees’ Retirement System in 24 CAR § 1-408.
