(a) Notice.
- (1) A customer who wants to stop service must tell the LEC at least five (5) days before the requested disconnection date.
(2) The minimum five-day notice period begins:
- (A) On the day the customer telephones the LEC;
- (B) When the customer personally informs the local business office; or
- (C) Three (3) days after the customer has mailed the notice to the LEC.
- (b) Liability. The customer does not have to pay for basic local service after the disconnection date requested by the customer so long as proper notice was given according to subsection (a) of this section.
- (c) Confirmation. An LEC must confirm the disconnection date if the customer asks.
