(a) Inspection.
- (1) Each LEC shall adopt a program of inspection and maintenance of its facilities in order to determine the necessity for replacement and repair.
- (2) The frequency of the various inspections shall be based on the LEC’s experience and accepted good practice.
- (3) Each LEC shall be able to provide evidence of compliance with its inspection program.
(b) Remedying defects.
(1) Telecommunications facilities with defects that would endanger life or property shall be immediately:
- (A) Repaired;
- (B) Replaced;
- (C) Disconnected; or
- (D) Isolated.
(2)
- (A) Deficiencies found during an inspection that do not require immediate correction shall be scheduled for maintenance.
- (B) A periodic report of corrective activity shall be kept with or refer to the appropriate inspection report.
- (c) Permanently abandoned facilities. When telecommunications facilities are permanently abandoned, the LEC shall remove them or maintain them in a safe condition.
