1. (a) Each water utility that furnishes fire service shall provide fire hydrant service to local firefighting equipment and facilities within a reasonable period of time after the service is requested.
2. (b) No water utility shall be required to install larger mains or fire hydrants or otherwise supply fire service unless proper contractual arrangements have been made with the utility by the municipality, agency, or individual desiring such service.
