1. (a) Sectionalizing valves shall be installed, maintained, and accessible in distribution mains at reasonable intervals to:

   1. (1) Facilitate system repairs by the utility; and
   2. (2) Keep any interruption of service to customers at a minimum.

2. (b) These valves shall be:

   1. (1) Identified by a number or other similar method; and
   2. (2) Plotted on each utility's maps.
