1. (a)

   1. (1) An electric utility shall allow net-metering facilities of legacy net-metering customers and legacy-transitional net-metering customers to be interconnected using a standard meter capable of registering the flow of electricity in two (2) directions.
   2. (2) An electric utility shall not require legacy net-metering customers or legacy-transitional net-metering customers to purchase or install a two-channel digital meter as a condition of continued net-metering service until June 1, 2040.

2. (b) An electric utility shall allow net-metering facilities of non-legacy net-metering customers to be interconnected using, at a minimum, a single standard two-channel digital meter capable of registering the flow of electricity in two (2) directions that separately measures the electric energy in kilowatt hours (kWh) that is:

   1. (1) Supplied by an electric utility to the net-metering customer; and
   2. (2) Generated by the net-metering customer’s net-metering facility and fed back to an electric utility.
