(a) The purpose of this part is to:

1. (1) Implement Acts 2019, No. 698; and
2. (2) Promote the public welfare by creating a comprehensive legal framework within which travel insurance may be sold in this state.

(b)

1. (1) The requirements of this part shall apply to:

   1. (A) Travel insurance that covers any resident of this state and is sold, solicited, negotiated, or offered in this state; and
   2. (B) Policies and certificates that are delivered or issued for delivery in this state.
2. (2) It shall not apply to cancellation fee waivers or travel assistance services, except as expressly provided herein.
