(a)
- (1) The crisis stabilization unit shall report critical incidents to the Department of Human Services in accordance with department Incident Reporting Policy 1090 that include critical incidents involving allegations constituting a sentinel event or resident abuse immediately via telephone or fax, but not less than twenty-four (24) hours of the incident.
- (2) If reported by telephone, the report shall be followed with a written report within twenty-four (24) hours.
(b)
(1) The crisis stabilization unit shall document and monitor internally, with a quality assurance and improvement process that will be made available for review and/or audit by an appropriate agency, the following:
- (A) Critical incidents requiring medical care by a physician or nurse or follow-up attention; and
- (B) Incidents requiring hospitalization or immediate off-site medical attention.
- (2) These incident reports shall be delivered via fax or mail to department provider certification within twenty-four (24) hours of the incident being documented.
