- (a) Time-out shall not be used with children under the age of two (2).
- (b) The only acceptable form of behavior guidance with infants and toddlers shall be redirection.
- (c) Brief separation from the group is acceptable when the child’s behavior places the child or others at risk of harm.
- (d) The child may be placed in a supervised area away from the group or in a crib or playpen while the caregiver attends to the situation. Example: A child who has bitten another child would be removed from the group, briefly, while the caregiver attends to the bitten child.
