(a)
- (1) Respite services are temporary, short-term services provided to relieve a beneficiary’s primary caregiver or caregivers or because of a primary caregiver or caregivers emergency absence.
- (2) Receipt of respite services does not preclude a beneficiary from receiving other CES Waiver services on the same day.
- (3) Respite services cannot supplant the responsibility of a parent or legal guardian.
(b) A provider of respite services must maintain the following documentation in the beneficiary’s service record for each day a beneficiary receives respite services:
- (1) The name and sign-in/sign-out times for each direct care staff member providing respite services;
- (2) The specific respite activities performed;
- (3) The date and beginning and ending time of each respite activity performed; and
- (4) Name or names of the direct care staff performing each respite activity.
