1. (a) The family must be economically needy, which means, in part, that the family’s countable income is below the income eligibility standard established by the state.

2. (b)

   1. (1) If income and all other requirements are met, then the monthly cash assistance payment is determined.
   2. (2) This is based on the family size and the family’s total countable income.
3. (c) The following sections describe how to determine what income is countable and how to calculate it, the income eligibility standard, and how to determine the payment amount.
