As used in this subpart;

1. (1)

   1. (A) “Material aid” means the provision of goods or payment of bills to meet or prevent imminent emergency.

   2. (B) For example:

      1. (i) The purchase of basic necessities for someone whose house has been destroyed by fire;
      2. (ii) Payment to a utility company to prevent imminent shut off of utility service; or
      3. (iii) The distribution of such items as clothing, smoke detectors, eyeglasses, and security devices, etc.;
2. (2) “Older individual” means a person sixty (60) years of age or older; and
3. (3) “Unit” means one (1) unit of service equals one (1) client per annual reporting period.
