(a)
- (1) Each resident shall be provided with a rigid single bed in good repair measuring a minimum of thirty-six inches (36”) in width.
- (2) The beds shall be equipped with a suitable, comfortable pillow and a comfortable, firm mattress in good repair which is four to five inches (4”-5”) thick and shall be covered with a moisture repellant material.
- (3) Beds in areas housing nonambulatory residents shall be provided with three-inch casters and at least two (2) of the four (4) casters shall be of the locking type.
- (b) Each resident shall be provided with appropriate storage space for personal items within his or her bedroom area.
- (c) Each resident shall be provided with a comfortable chair at the bedside unless contraindicated for programmatic reasons.
- (d) Each window shall be provided with flame-retardant curtains.
- (e) All wastebaskets shall meet the flame retardant requirements under the NFPA standards.
