- (a) Written policies and procedures shall be established for investigating, controlling, and preventing infections.
- (b) Procedures shall be reviewed annually and revised as necessary for effectiveness and improvement.
(c) The policies and procedures shall include as a minimum:
- (1) Aseptic and isolation techniques;
- (2) Proper disposal techniques for infected dressing, disposable syringes, needles, etc.;
(3) Prohibiting the use of the common:
- (A) Towel;
- (B) Bath and hand soap; and
- (C) Drinking cup or glass; and
- (4) Proper reporting of communicable disease.
