- (a) For purposes of this section, "laboratory" means an entity for the microbiological, serological, chemical, hematological, radiobioassay, sytological, immunohematological, pathological, or other examination of material derived from the human body, for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of any disease or assessment of a medical condition.
- (b) If a facility chooses to provide laboratory services, the laboratory must meet state and federal management requirements and provide personnel to direct and conduct the laboratory services.
