- (a) Extra pillows shall be available as needed for treatment and/or comfort of clients.
- (b) Moisture-proof rubber or plastic sheeting shall be provided as necessary to keep mattress or pillows clean or dry.
(c) Where laundry service is provided on the facility premises:
- (1) An employee shall be designated in charge of the service;
- (2) Clients' and personal laundry shall not be washed with bed linen;
- (3) Hand washing facilities must be provided for the staff with soap and towel dispensers nearby;
- (4) Soiled linens shall be covered or placed in enclosed containers after being transported to the laundry; and
- (5) Soiled linens which are not washed daily shall be stored in a vented area designated only for soiled linens.
(d)
- (1) A sufficient supply of clean bed linen shall be available at all times.
- (2) A minimum of two (2) clean sheets and one (1) clean pillowcase shall be provided for each bed on a weekly basis.
(3) Linens shall be changed as often as indicated in order to keep the client:
- (A) Clean;
- (B) Comfortable; and
- (C) Dry.
- (e) Each bed shall be covered with a suitable bedspread at least during the hours of the day when the bed is not occupied.
(f)
- (1) Sufficient blankets shall be provided to ensure the warmth of each client and shall be laundered as often as necessary to ensure cleanliness and freedom from odors.
- (2) The blankets shall be individually assigned to clients and not passed indiscriminately to clients without first being laundered.
- (g) Table linens shall be laundered separately from bed linen and clothing.
