(a)
- (1) Job orientation shall be provided and documented in writing for all personnel to acquaint them with the needs of the clients, the physical facility, disaster plan, and the employee's specific duties and responsibilities.
- (2) There shall be ongoing in-service training and there should be written documentation maintained to verify that in-service training is planned and conducted.
- (3) Attendance at such training shall be verified by each employee by signing their names on the attendance record.
- (4) Records of training shall include the name of the employee as well as topic of instruction and date of successful completion.
- (5) The training program must enable each employee to perform his or her duties effectively, efficiently, and competently.
- (b) For employees who work with clients, training must focus on skills and competencies directed toward clients developmental, behavioral, and health needs.
- (c) Staff must be able to demonstrate the skills and techniques necessary to administer interventions to manage the inappropriate behavior of clients.
- (d) Staff must be able to demonstrate the skills and techniques necessary to implement the individual program plans for each client for whom they are responsible.
(e) At least ninety percent (90%) of personnel on each shift shall be trained at least on a quarterly basis in the:
- (1) Proper use of all firefighting equipment;
- (2) Procedures for evacuation of clients; and
- (3) Procedures to follow in case of fire or explosion.
