- (a) Written policies and procedures shall be established for investigating, controlling, and preventing infections.
(b)
- (1) Procedures shall be reviewed annually and revised as necessary for effectiveness and improvement.
(2) The policies and procedures shall include as a minimum:
- (A) Aseptic and isolation techniques;
- (B) Proper disposal techniques for infected dressing, disposable syringes, needles, etc.;
- (C) Prohibiting the use of the common:
(i) Towel;
(ii) Bath and hand soap; and
- (iii) Drinking cup or glass; and
- (D) Proper reporting of communicable disease.
