- (a) Sufficient housekeeping and maintenance service shall be provided to maintain the facility in good repair and in a safe, clean, orderly, and sanitary manner.
(b) All areas of the facility must be kept clean and free of:
- (1) Insects;
- (2) Trash; and
- (3) Lingering odors.
- (c) Corridors shall not be used for storage.
- (d) Attics, cellars, basements, under or below stairways, and similar areas must be kept clean of accumulation of refuse, old newspapers, and discarded furniture.
- (e) Garbage shall be stored in a closed container and disposed of in a manner approved by the Office of Long-Term Care or applicable laws, rules, or ordinances.
(f)
- (1) Ventilation, heating, air conditioning, and air changing systems shall be properly maintained.
(2)
- (A) Gas systems shall be inspected at least every twelve (12) months to ensure safe operation.
- (B) Inspection certificates, where applicable, shall be maintained for review.
- (g) Entrances, exits, steps, and outside walkways shall be free from ice, snow, and other hazards.
- (h) Repairs or additions must meet applicable building codes at the time construction begins.
(i)
- (1) The facility shall be maintained free of insects and rodents.
- (2) Documented control measures shall be taken to prevent rodent and insect infestation.
