(b) Staff shall:

1. (1) Display respect for residents when speaking with, caring for, or talking about residents; and
2. (2) Seek to engage in the constant affirmation of resident individuality and dignity as a human being.

(c)

1. (1) Schedules of daily activities shall:

   1. (A) Provide maximum flexibility; and
   2. (B) Allow residents to exercise choice in participation.
2. (2) Residents’ individual preferences regarding such things as menus, clothing, religious activities, friendships, activity programs, and entertainment will be elicited and respected by the facility.

(d)

1. (1) Residents shall be examined or treated in a manner that maintains and ensures privacy.
2. (2) A closed door or a drawn curtain shall shield the resident from passersby.
3. (3) People not involved in the care of the residents are not to be present during examination or treatment without the resident's consent.

(e) Privacy will be afforded residents during:

1. (1) Toileting;
2. (2) Bathing; and
3. (3) Other activities of personal hygiene.
